Instructions of how to make a web-based game online
Things You'll Need:
Internet connection
Programming
Step 1
Check out 'Sploder. 'Sploder is an open-source, free Web-based graphic interface that allows you to make either platformer games (like Super Mario Brothers) or shooters (like Doom) by clicking and dragging elements onto a work screen. 'Sploder also hosts games made with its software, allowing other Internet-based players to access your game for free. There are no downloads required to use 'Sploder, making it one of the most simple game-making programs available.
Step 2
Make an online multi-player game with Build Your Own Net Dream, a free, downloadable program that allows you to create several types of multiplayer games that are then hosted at BYOND's website. BYOND uses a graphic interface that Windows users will find familiar; elements of the game are click-and-dragged from the menus on the left to the work screen on the right. BYOND is a more complex programming service than 'Sploder, and offers more game-creation options.
Step 3
With YoYo Games' GameMaker program, downloadable from its site, you merely drag and drop separate elements such as background, sounds, actions and enemies onto the screen. The benefit of this system is that there is no programming necessary, allowing any level of programmer to create a multitude of different games. YoYo also hosts games that users create, and is totally free.
